Genre: Top-Down Adventure

Production time: 5 weeks as a team

of 4 students

Inspirations: Zelda-like, Dungeons Crawlers

Focus of the project:

- Coherence between a given music track and the concept of the game

(Genre, Esthetic and general feeling was based on it)

- Level design (Including HUB)

since it's a big part of the adventure Genre.

- Tutorialization

(and the feeling of progression trough the game)

My work

HUB level design:

The HUB purpose was to give incentive to the player to continue the story, discover more interest points and discussion between the characters. Narration was the intended reward for each steps in the progression of the player.

The HUB also was the tutorial area, each level giving to the player a new mechanics to learn to continue exploring the HUB and unlocking the next level.

Art, Assets, Feedbacks and Animations:

Most of the pixel art was done by me to be used as tilesets, making it easy to create more level and modify the HUB. It was a good way to recreate the feeling of the 8-bit adventure so present in the music.

All the animations except for the main characters are also done frame per frame, including feedbacks and such.
